Policy

GPDocs Model Practice carries out day surgery procedures within our scope of practice that are suitable for the patient's needs and our day surgery facilities (as per NZS 8165: 2005 – 3.1.4).

We comply with relevant professional codes, guidelines, and standards, including New Zealand Standard Rooms/Office-based Surgery and Procedures (NZS 8165: 2005). Our practice has a copy of NZS 8165: 2005 and refers to it as needed.

We carry out procedures within our scope of practice that are suitable for the patient's needs and our facilities (as per NZS 8165: 2005 – 3.1.4).

GPDocs Model Practice offers the following day surgery services:

Service provision and patient care

We ensure that service provision is patient-centred, from patient assessment and selection through to post-surgery care and discharge. All patients give informed consent, our staff demonstrate cultural competence, and we give special assistance to patient groups with specific requirements, e.g. patients with a reduced capacity to understand information related to the procedure.
