Induction and Orientation

Policy

All new staff, including students, complete an induction and orientation relevant to their role, to help them understand how we work, our values, core policies, and the health care environment.

Contractors and volunteers undertake at least a Health and Safety Induction initially.

Effective induction reduces staff turnover and helps new team members become fully productive as soon as possible.

Induction/orientation includes:

New staff sign the appropriate induction checklist to acknowledge they have received all applicable information, and have read and understood the core policies relevant to their role.
