Armed Intruders
In an emergency dial 111
- Keep calm.
- Assist anyone in immediate danger.
- Evacuate if necessary.
- Follow instructions from wardens or emergency services.

If there is an armed intruder
- Activate the silent/duress alarm.
- If possible, either evacuate all patients and staff, or move to a safe location.
- Cooperate with the intruder.
- Stay calm and try not to
antagonise the intruder.Try not to antagonise the intruder by avoiding:
- sudden movements, talking, or staring
- confronting or resisting
- attempting to follow the offender.
Take note of the intruder's physical descriptors, mode of transport, or any details which may be helpful to the police.
When the intruder has left
- Advise others that help is on the way.
- Provide first aid to anyone who is injured.
- Ask witnesses to remain at the scene until the police have arrived.
Preserve the scene for police by restricting entry and isolating any areas offenders were in. Allow access only to emergency services.
