Lockdown
If a lockdown is required

In situations where there is a threat to safety outside the practice, or if advised to do so by police, hold a
full or partial lockdown.
Full lockdowns stop all movements in or out of the practice. Partial lockdowns stop movement in or out of a specific part of the practice.
- Contact the police as soon as possible.
- Alert all staff to the situation and have the most senior staff member take control.
- Lock all external doors. Close all windows, curtains, and blinds.
- Move everyone in the building to the designated safe area.
- Put phones on silent. Keep quiet and keep low and stay away from windows or doors.
- Stay in the designated area until emergency services advise that it is safe to leave.
