We are committed, through our health and safety policies, to provide a safe and healthy environment for patients, staff, visitors, and contractors.

When visitors or contractors are at the practice they must:

Contractors working at the practice

When a contractor works at GPDocs Model Practice, both the contractor and the practice share responsibility (as PCBUs) for health and safety. The practice, so far as reasonably practicable, consults, cooperates with, and coordinates activities with the contractor, as outlined below.

It is the practice's responsibility to take reasonable practicable steps to ensure contractors' safety during their contracted work. The practice manager should meet any contractor before the work is started, and brief them on relevant health and safety information, including:

Contractors are responsible for complying with health and safety legislation, and for recording and reporting any accidents that harm themselves or any other person. Some work, such as tree felling or construction work, must be notified to WorkSafe before the contractor starts work.

Contractors must have their own compliant health and safety system in place (and provide evidence if asked).

Before contractors start work at the practice

Important! The practice can suspend work at any time if not satisfied the contractor is taking the necessary health and safety measures.
