Shared Electronic Health Record

Policy

We use HealthOne to securely share patients' electronic health record with other authorised health providers involved in their care. This may include after-hours providers, other general practices, pharmacies, hospitals, and paramedics.

When accessing patient information via HealthOne, clinicians are subject to their professional obligations under:

Clinical staff view a patient's health information using HealthOne in approved clinical settings only, and only if the patient is currently under their care.

HealthOne does not allow access to all patient information.

System security

Access to HealthOne is via a highly secure healthcare information network. Each user logs in with an individual username and password, and all access is traceable and regularly audited.

The practice manager is the IT coordinator and is responsible for GPDocs Model Practice's information security requirements and liaises with the outside contractors who manage the practice's information security.
